Medicare Cost plans have been available in other areas of the country for many years. These are a hybrid product that actually preceded the Medicare Advantage plans now commonly available. Medicare COST plans offer you coverage options at lower premiums than Medicare supplement insurance plans. Medicare COST plans are another choice for you to receive all of your Medicare benefits and with some plans even more.
A Medicare COST plan may have a 'network' of providers that you will need to choose from to have the most cost effective coverage. Should you choose to use an 'out of network' provider, your regular Medicare benefits will apply but you will likely have additional out of pocket expenses. If your normal providers participate in a Medicare Cost plans' network, there is an opportunity for you to save a considerable amount in premium over a traditional Medicare supplement plan.
